Where It Started
The Wingrove name has stood on West Road in Newcastle since 1925. That's nearly a hundred years of looking after the area's cars from the same spot on one of the city's busiest roads — the kind of history you can't manufacture, and a reputation we take seriously.
A True Family Business
In recent years the business was taken on and grown by the Purba family. Jasper Purba leads it, with his sons closely involved — Arun working alongside long-time colleague David Davies, and Tarun running the car buying and selling side. It's a genuinely family-oriented business with deep roots, driven by a simple aim: to build something lasting for family, friends and the community Jasper has served for years.
From Garage to One-Stop Shop
Since taking over, the family has invested heavily to add service after service — until Wingrove became something rare: a genuine one-stop shop, where almost every automotive need is met under one roof. MOTs and servicing. Repairs and diagnostics. Ceramic coating and the North East's only mobile dry ice blasting. Wrapping, tinting, bodywork, an auto electrician, and car sales and sourcing. We may well be the only garage anywhere near the North East offering all of this in one place — and that's exactly the point.
What We Stand For
We're not the cheapest, and we've never tried to be. What we are is honest, friendly and obsessive about doing the job right — because this name has carried trust since 1925, and we won't tarnish it. We treat every car as if it were our own, and we want everyone who hasn't been before to discover how stress-free looking after a car can actually be.
In the Press
The family business has featured in the local press, including ChronicleLive, as part of a Newcastle family making its mark across several businesses.
